Old "Hangtown" and Camp Alta

it's been a while, but i havent had computer access in my defense.

This past week I was blessed while serving at Placer Heights Baptist Church. I helped with the pre-school and kindergarten classes. The kids were so open to everything this week. 35 children attended from preschool-8th grade. Out of those kids at least 4 were saved by the grace of God. The heavens are rejoicing with every new believer this summer and I thank you for the prayers for this week. I do ask that y’all continue to pray for the children that are new believers; they need prayer just as much as a non-believer. I also ask that y’all continue to pray for everyone that aren’t believers yet, the seed has been planted, so just pray that it will grow into something and that they will one day be ready to follow Christ. California is a different place out here and I miss everyone at home. For those of y’all who are counting, I have 13 more days out here, 17 days until I leave for Auburn, 18 days until rush starts, and 29 days before classes start. I am working at Camp Alta as a camp counselor. I am extremely excited about this week. So far this week is going great. Yesterday I was in charge of recreation and I made up 3 different games. Today I helped lead a huge adventure race. I helped brainstorm each game. It was awesome. Please continue to pray for our unity as a group and for the children and even adults that we have come into contact with at Camp Alta. May there be more rejoicing in the heavens over the repentance of many sinners across the world today and every day until the Savior returns and takes us home with Him. I pray that everyone hears the gospel and it doesn’t fall void.
God Bless!!

I'm back..

I haven't written on my blog in a while, because we've been busy! VBS was very rewarding last week. We had 2 interested in becoming a Christian, but they aren't quite ready yet. It is nice to know that the seed has been planted though. My parents came out to California this week. I only saw them on Thursday for dinner. It was nice to see them. One of the main things I am learning this summer is that sometimes being a missionary doesn't mean preaching the gospel all of the time. Sometimes it means getting on your knees and serving the Lord on the "bottom of the totum pole". One week I cleaned showers with my group, while it was nasty it was very rewarding. We served dinner to campers and ate last one week, and while we ate we had to keep taking out the trash, but that week was my favorite week. God blessed my group that week, because we were willing to be servants for him. The weight of the goslel is still huge and I know that I need to be sharing it and not shy away from it, but sometimes sharing a little love can plant a seed. California is an amazing place to be serving the Lord for the summer.
Romans 10:14-15
Please pray for me as well as my group as we continue serving the Lord in California.
in Him,
Maggie

Use my hands and use my feet

My parents are coming to visit next week. I'm super excited that they will get to see the beauty that is surrounding me. We have had much fun teaching VBS for the past few weeks. We got to go to Old Sacramento and shop which was awesome. The capital building has a beautiful rose garden and the capital building is beautiful inside.
